Amman - Petra - Wadi Rum - Amman

Morning:

Departure from Amman: Start your day early in the morning to make the most of your day trip. Arrange for transportation, either by renting a car, hiring a driver, or joining a guided tour.

Drive to Petra: The journey from Amman to Petra takes approximately 3 hours by car. Enjoy the scenic drive through the desert landscapes of Jordan.

Arrival at Petra Visitor Center: Once you arrive at Petra, head to the visitor center to purchase your entrance tickets and obtain a map of the archaeological site.

Begin Exploring Petra: Enter through the Siq, a narrow and winding gorge that leads to the iconic Treasury (Al-Khazneh). Marvel at the impressive rock formations and ancient architecture along the way.

Midday:

Explore the Main Highlights: Spend the midday exploring the main highlights of Petra, including the Treasury, the Street of Facades, the Royal Tombs, the Theater, and the Great Temple. Take your time to appreciate the intricate carvings and historical significance of these structures.

Lunch Break: Take a break from exploring and enjoy a delicious lunch at one of the local restaurants or grab a snack from the vendors within the site.

Afternoon:

Optional Hike to the Monastery: If you have enough energy and time, consider embarking on the 800-step hike up to the Monastery (Al-Deir). This lesser-known but equally breathtaking structure offers stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.

Free Time and Souvenir Shopping: After visiting the Monastery or if you choose not to hike, take some free time to further explore Petra, visit the small museum, or browse the local shops for souvenirs and handicrafts.

Late Afternoon:

Return Journey to Amman: Begin your return journey to Amman in the late afternoon. Allow for approximately 3 hours of travel time to reach the capital city.
